New business development appointment
29.11.08
Coventry Airport has recruited a new head of business development. The new executive sees the airport as a ‘blank canvas’ after turbulent times this year, with Thomsonfly pulling out last month and the airport losing a High Court appeal against a decision to refuse permission for a revamped passenger terminal.
Now, new head of business development, Tom Freeman, previously with Atlantic Airways, has been employed to ‘put Coventry on the airport map. He will be prioritising executive aviation and cargo and said: ‘Discussions have already commenced with a number of interested parties and I am confident these will result in increased activity and future route networks.'
‘We are not competing with Birmingham. On the contrary, with our size and ease of access, we have many advantages to offer potential operators that larger facilities cannot. How many airports can boast a passenger journey of less than 200 metres from aircraft seat to car seat?’
