ADP outline plans for airport

The chief executive of Swiss business support firm ADP has outlined his plans for Coventry Airport if his company takes over the site. It was announced on Tuesday that ADP has requested 30 days to look over the airport's books, after which it hopes to take over the lease.
ADP chief executive Thomas Frankl said said his firm would look at expanding the existing cargo business, becoming a centre of excellence for ad-hoc freight and aircraft repairs. He also hoped to run some passenger flights and to attract the owners of private jets to base their aircraft there.
He said: ‘Coventry Airport has got a very good infrastructure here already, which is quite unusual for a small regional airport. Once the economy is better we would be looking at some specialist passenger traffic routes, such as ski flights.’
The Swiss firm – which normally operates car parks and logistic centres – has been chosen by Coventry City Council (the airports owner) as its preferred partner to run the site, in what would be ADP's first airport project.
