Swiss firm considers buying airport

27.01.10

A Switzerland-based firm is considering taking over Coventry Airport. Business support firm ADP has requested 30 days to look through the airport's books. The airport shut at the start of December, but passenger flights had stopped in 2008, with the airport continuing to handling freight, business and club flights.

The city council's deputy leader Kevin Foster said the council, who own the airport, had been talking to ADP since before Christmas and he was pleased with the progress. He said ‘We are very confident this is something that will go forward and will not be 30 days wasted, but 30 days that brings an end to the issue.'
