Coventry is fastest growing freight airport

Coventry Airport was the fastest-growing freight airport in the country in 2005 - and the ninth fastest-growing European passenger airport - new research shows.
The airport entered the table for Europe's top 10 fastest-growing passenger airports for the first time on the back of a 55.6% increase, which took its total number of passengers in 2005 to 718,845. It also handled 6,142 tonnes of freight in 2005 - an 86% increase on the previous year.
The annual Airport Property Market report by property consultancy King Sturge also rated local rival Birmingham Airport as the second fastest-growing UK freight airport and the fifth fastest-growing European freight airport.
