Thomsonfly not quitting Jersey route
20.10.06
Thomsonfly is not considering pulling out of flights between Jersey and Coventry Airport, the BBC news reports. The low-cost airline's call centre has been telling customers that the airline will not be flying between Coventry and Jersey from April next year, but bosses have said that this is not the case.
Thomsonfly launched low cost flights between Jersey and Coventry Airport in March 2004. However, passengers wishing to book flights on their website to fly between Jersey and Coventry Airport are unable to make a booking after March 2007.
Deputy Alan MacLean, Jersey's minister responsible for Jersey airport, says Thomsonfly has not finalised its schedules for the spring / summer season and is not pulling out of the route. He said the airline has told the airport authorities that their call centre is giving out the wrong information to passengers and the call centre operators are being corrected as to what to tell customers.
Two Jersey Airport executives are to meet the Thomsonfly today to discuss routes to Jersey.
