Passenger unhappy at loss of Amsterdam route
17.09.07
A reader wrote to us to express his concern and surprise that Thomsonfly has chosen to stop flying the Coventry Airport - Amsterdam route. As a regular user of the route he enjoyed the cheap fares ('always a great plus'), the airline's 'easy to use website with unique features (e.g. farefinder)', and the convenient ('close by, no bus transfers') and reasonable ('compared to other airports') airport parking. He is very upset to see the route withdrawn, but still complements the airline and the airport.
The reader says that he will now have to fly via East Midlands ('gasp!') with bmibaby ('double gasp!'), but will 'continue to endorse Thomsonfly and Coventry Airport to both friends and family in the hope that when you see the light and bring back the schedule (ever the optimist).'
Our reader did contact the airline 'in the hope that someone would respond with an adequate explanation as to why the schedule has been halted, and perhaps even explain when it will return,' but failed to receive a response. However, even though he is upset with the withdrawal of the route, he is still passionate about the Coventry Airport / Thomsonfly experience.
