Museum gets new plane
12.05.10
A RAF Nimrod MR2 has been added to the aviation museum at Coventry Airport's fleet of classic planes. The reconnaissance plane saw service during the Falklands War, and will be exhibited as part of Air Atlantique's Classic Flight.
The plane will not remain airworthy, but will be kept in a taxi-able condition at the airport. A Classic Flight spokesman said: ‘The Nimrod will make a dramatic addition to our collection. It has an important story to tell. We want to preserve an example for future generations of enthusiasts, historians and aviators.’
