Airport launch terminal appeal

Coventry Airport is continuing its fight for a new terminal, the Courier reports. Its lawyers left it until Monday - the last possible of 28 days - to request an appeal against the High Court judgement, which supported a decision made last year by a government inspector to refuse planning permission.
The airport will be without a passenger airline next week for the first time in 4 years when Thomsonfly ends its operations at the site, while the most up-to-date figures show a 38% fall in passenger numbers in the past year. Yet despite all this, the airport’s managers remain optimistic. A hearing would not be held until next year.
