Chairman of Coventry Airport steps down
06.07.06
The chairman of Coventry Airport, Bill Savage, has stepped down from the job. Savage became managing director when the site's former owners, TUI, which also owns Thomsonfly, took over the airport 2 years ago. He became chairman when TUI sold the airport to CAFCO-C earlier this year.
Savage oversaw the launch of Thomsonfly passenger services from the airport 2004. He said that when he came to work for the airport nearly 3 years ago it was for a 6 week period and the time was right to move on now.
William Charnock, the former managing director of London City Airport, will take over the role. He said: 'I look forward to working with the board and staff to bring our development proposals for a new terminal to fruition as soon as possible.'
